INTRODUCTION OF IMPROVED COMPETITION STRUCTURE IN 2026
The aims of the new structure are as follows:

• Increase opportunities for junior golfers to play more competitive team golf.                                                                 Three divisional finals to be inserted between the divisional qualifiers and regional finals in each of the five regions of England. This will bring the England competition structure in line with Scotland.  If this innovation proves to be a success, it will be introduced into Wales in 2027.
  
•  One, two or three teams to qualify for the next stage from each event of the competition from qualifiers through to Regional Finals.
  
• Less travelling expenditure and greater choice of dates in the first two rounds i.e. the divisional qualifiers, to be played during a four weekend summer series 20th/21st June – 11th/12th July inclusive or during the traditional autumn series 29th/30th August – 19th/20th September inclusive.
  
• Divisional qualifiers in each region to be followed by the three divisional finals over the weekend of 26th/27th September, and then regional finals on either 3rd/4th or 10th/11th October.
  
• Target minimum number of events in each region:                                                                                                                         10 divisional qualifiers : 3 divisional finals : 1 regional final
