Robert Ross (Scotland) stepping down from his National Director position Robert Ross has stepped down from his position as Director of JTG Scotland after nearly 16 years direct involvement in the JTG Championship. Robert’s first association with the Scotland Final was when he took his Liberton Club, from Edinburgh, to two Scotland championship titles in 2010 and 2012. Then, after guiding Liberton to two Home Nations Finals at El Valle, Polaris World, Murcia in 2010 and then again at Antequera, Andalucia in 2012, both in Spain, he stepped down from his club role to become Director of JTG Scotland in 2013. He has been a rock since first volunteering his invaluable services until forwarding his resignation last month. I shall personally miss his wise council and steadying hand in respect of all things Junior Team Golf in England, Ireland and Wales in addition to his hands-on direction in Scotland in respect of golf management, creative presentation of information and confidant. I would be most grateful if everyone could respect Robert’s wishes that clubs, players and parents do not contact him in respect of ongoing JTG Championship matters. However he will undoubtedly be available to talk with JTG Scotland management and will attend some events as a spectator/observer this year.
Letter from Robert Ross After thirteen years of involvement with Junior Team Golf as voluntary Director of Golf in Scotland, the time has come for me to move on and concentrate on other things. So, as of this Season (2026) I shall no longer be the contact point for Junior Team Golf in Scotland. I have been fortunate to have met so many Junior Convenors/Organisers and visited a host of Clubs, all of whom have been very kind and sympathetic to the cause of giving Juniors an opportunity to play on different courses, pitting their skills against other Junior Teams. To the Club Officials who have answered our calls, I thank you for your time. I hope that Clubs who have been involved with the Competition in the past carry on entering and I wish you all the very best in the quest to become Junior Team Golf Scottish Champions in 2026. Regards, Robert Ross
